I have a deep love for traditions, especially when it comes to “keeping Christmas. And when traditions hold enough meaning to become an avenue for legacy-building, I’m all in.
Although I was unaware as a child of the significant wisdom tucked within the frames of A Charlie Brown Christmas, the profound lessons soon became a part of my family’s yearly celebration. And for good reason.
Isn’t the world still searching for the real meaning of Christmas? Isn’t this one message the single most profound treasure that warms the coldest heart and pours hope into the most hopeless situation?
Yet, the challenge to fully rest in the beauty of its truth is continually before us. In the midst of all the busyness, we lose sight of how to embrace the hope-filled moments of Christmas. In the midst of making Christmas, we often lose sight of keeping Christmas. Click To Tweet
Sometimes the much-needed reminders come to us in the most charming of ways – A Charlie Brown Christmas…
“It was finally Christmastime, the best time of the year. The houses were strung with tiny colored lights, their windows shining with warm yellow glow only Christmas could bring. The scents of pine needles and hot cocoa mingled together, wafting through the air, and the sweet sounds of Christmas carols could be heard in the distance. Fluffy white snowflakes tumbled from the sky onto a group of joyful children as they sang and laughed, skating on the frozen pond in town. Everyone was happy and full of holiday cheer. That is, everyone except for Charlie Brown.” ~Charles M. Schulz~
Make time for “fun” and do what you love.
Let creativity thrive through “simplicity.
Spread joy in the most “unexpected” moments.
Keep perspective on “authentic beauty.”
“Remember” the real meaning of Christmas in all your coming and going.
“Surrounded by his friends, Charlie Brown realized Linus had been right about the true meaning of Christmas. This was the Christmas spirit he had been looking for all along. At last, the season seemed 100 times brighter. ~Charles M. Schulz~
