Yet these are the times, in the squeezing of the last bit of strength that God enters into the picture. He may not provide a way of escape. He may not clear the path and free us from the battle. And He may not slay our Goliath, which is what we so desperately long for Him to do.
But if we can step back from the battle for just a bit, we will see that we are not alone. There is always another facing the same monstrous giant on different battlefields, and often God chooses to intersect the paths of weary warriors.
We’ll realize there is so much to be gained in the forging of our battles – TOGETHER.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
Often, it all begins with a simple meal and a humble sharing of hearts. Amazing things happen around the table, especially when we accept the invitation to dine with God in the midst of our battles.
God never calls us to face our Goliath battles alone.
Today I’m guest writing for a wonderfully encouraging series called “Every Table Tells a Story“ at Welcome Heart. I hope you’ll find strength and hope for whatever Goliath battle you are facing. I hope you’ll enter into your Goliath battle with a renewed sense that perhaps God is calling you to something deeper.
Perhaps He’s calling you to stand tall and face your Goliath with an uncowering presence of peace and resolve that comes only in the sharing and standing with another.
