Are you familiar with a dream day?
It is the perfect invitation to step away from all that stresses and robs us of current joy.
It’s a somatic way to connect with who we desire to be, not who we find ourselves being in the present moment, especially if who we are is tired, overwhelmed, stressed and longing for more.
Regardless of our phase of life, we all have goals and dreams. They are what fuels us to keep moving forward in life. They excite, refresh and give hope of better things to come.
Think back to a time when you were so looking forward to an event you knew was coming in the future – a party, vacation, wedding, reunion. Most likely you spent much of your time thinking about it, anticipating, planning and envisioning every detail. And as you did, your senses helped to create your excitement and your reality, even though you hadn’t yet experienced it.
That’s because our subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between what is real and what is imagined, especially when we feel the emotions and engage our senses while using our imagination.
It’s a tool to help us access how we see ourselves, who we want to be, how we want to live, what we want to do. The possibilities are only limited by our imagination.
Because a dream day is all about using our imagination.
I know, it sounds rather silly, something reserved for children. But our imagination is a gift we can access at any age, and it is a driving presence in every accomplished goal and dream. Our imagination shapes who we are and who we long to become. Every decision we make for our future begins with us imagining what it will be like and who we will need to be. With it, we can change the trajectory of our lives.
So, why not use our imagination to refresh and inspire us for the next season of our life, whether it be tomorrow, next year or five years from now.

If you went to bed tonight and woke up in your dream day:
It’s a way to envision our future and also a path to begin leaning into our future self. To challenge her, encourage her through the hard parts, inspire her to keep going, and love her for being willing to try.
When we feel like we’re in a rut, stuck in the place we really don’t want to be or just in limbo, we have the ability to create more for ourselves. When circumstances are outside of our control, we can center our emotions and harness our thoughts.
We have the opportunity to feel and think outside of our circumstances, use available resources, and access hope that carries us into the good parts of our story…
The parts that are yet to be lived and enjoyed, that refresh us from the inside out and hold the promise of a new day.
