Sometimes we need reminded that every part of our life is an important piece in building our legacy. Where the smallest pieces have the ability to create the largest impact. And the greatest sacrifices yield profound and lasting echoes of a life lived well.
For as long as I can remember, the theme of building a legacy has resided in the forefront of my life. It’s driven my choices and shaped my convictions.
It’s kept me centered through motherhood when so much felt unbalanced and unpredictable. When momentary happiness and the easier road looked more appealing than contentment and committment.
It’s forged tenacity and strength and selflessness in the midst of circumstances jagged enough to slice through every hope and dream. When walking away in search of something better was more appealing than one more step forward.
It’s expanded my vision of my place in this world. Not just for today, but forever. And it’s given me an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the grace woven throughout each moment of living and breathing my legacy journey.
“What we leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others. ~Pericles
Building a legacy is hard work, and building a lasting legacy is the hardest work. It doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen on its own. It takes courage and strength of character for the long-haul.
Don’t we all want to build a legacy that will speak volumes when we are gone?
Don’t we all want to impact the lives of others in ways that leave profound and lasting echoes of a life lived well?
♥ a family overflowing in love and faith
♥ a marriage saturated in mercy and grace
♥ children formed of strength of heart and commitment of spirit
♥ relationships drenched in unconditional love
♥ unshakeable faith grounded in relentless trust
Let’s commit to building a legacy that clings to hope and journeys toward all that honors and pleases the God who created us for MORE. One that recognizes challenges as opportunities and values character and committment. And one that presses into the unknown with courage and assurance of all the good that awaits a heart that trusts.
We were born for a legacy. Our DNA is imprinted with a legacy by design. The numbered days we have on this earth are enough to build a strong and lasting legacy.
