Parenting Children in Who God Created Them to Be

Parenting isn’t easy!

The answers are rarely clear and the task of soul shaping doesn’t include a step by step manual anyone can follow. It’s rigorous and tiring and daunting. And it takes unimaginable courage and sacrifice over a lifetime.

But it’s also the adventure of a lifetime. One that sends our adrenaline shooting with each accomplishment and our tears flowing with every cute and contagious heart tug.

We watch the life entrusted to our care. The wonder of every breath.

And we hope…

they will grow in character and strength

they’ll develop compassion and kindness

their hearts will be honest and generous and good

We hope our children will become all we imagine… and more than we can possibly imagine.

Their dreams become our dreams, and we become the keeper of dreams. Cherishing and nourishing and guiding them toward all God created them to be.

We do it because it’s a calling…because it’s a gift.

We do it because it’s the best thing we can do. To parent our children in the hope of who God created them to be is the highest and best calling. One that will never return void. And one that will carry them continually to the heart of their Creator.

All of this we do in hope, with hope and through hope.

Because this hope is our purest act of faith planted in our heart and the heart of every child. It’s this hope that calls us to be more than a parent as we invite our Creator to enter in. To shape and chisel and mold.

We are more than a parent. It's our job to call out who God has created our children to be. Share on X
