Hopefulness is not a given. It’s something that must be nurtured and cultivated, especially in terms of how we live out our life plan and build our legacy. A committment to hopefulness makes all the difference between giving up or pressing on when difficult circumstances become a threat to successfully living out our life plan. Realizing the potential for any plan to get derailed allows us to put measures in place which give us staying power, strength for the long haul and perspective for the difficult times. These measures also create ways for us to keep fear and depression at bay and focus our attention on moving forward instead of getting stuck in the present or the past. Create Your Legacy Mission Statement
Every life makes a statement. And every life has a mission. For some it's simply to survive, and for others it's to thrive. But regardless of where we all fall on the spectrum, our life speaks volumes of how we have lived from here to there. It's been almost 20 years since I wrote my legacy mission statement. I was struggling to overcome a past that was threatening to swallow me whole and steal any hope of a healthy future. I knew I wanted a different life for my children than I had but I didn't know how to get there. Fresh Market Friday: When Intention Meets Passion
I vividly remember that one moment with all of my children. When the line between time and space didn’t exist, and all was right with the world as we knew it. When they were young and gushing with the ability to imagine and dream, and their list of to-do’s involved only living in the moment because the pleasure of that moment was worth every ounce of energy spent. For my boys, it was as simple as spreading a sheet out on the tile floor to catch a dumped, oversized bucket of Legos® or Playmobil® pieces. For my daughter, it was clearing away any and all obstructions to creating an expansive zoo of Littlest Pets®. Their passionate creations stood and morphed for days on end.
