“It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It's what we do consistently.” ― Anthony Robbins” Quite a few years ago, before becoming a certified life coach, I became enamored with the idea of incorporating small, deliberate, and consistent baby steps in my daily life instead of surges of energetic momentum to accomplish my goals. Why? Because the joy and motivation I experienced during my surges rarely lasted as the work of meeting goals became more grueling, and I found myself depleted, defeated, and unable to find the momentum to keep going. It's discouraging to be stuck with no real progress to show for it. In the coaching world, we call these Mini Habits. 7 Stress-Free Benefits of a Simple Life
When the benefits of a simple life outweigh the life we find ourselves living, it's time for a change. Did you know two-thirds of Americans say they are likely to seek help for stress? Did you know fifty-four percent of Americans are concerned about the level of stress in their everyday lives? While it's true stress affects everyone, and not all stress is bad, we do have the power to control the stress in our lives. Three years ago, my son moved to China. His life in the states had become too burdensome. He was experiencing physical side effects, and he needed a change. Not just a change of scenery, but a change of lifestyle. 7 Perfect Fresh Start Scriptures to Reset Your Soul
Summer is the perfect time for fresh starts. Everything around us is spilling over in full life, and it’s the time my heart is most receptive to growth. I’m not striving to keep up. I’m sure it stems from motherhood and intentionally protecting the summer for both myself and my kiddos to completely decompress. To hang loose and do whatever felt right at the time, We woke when the sun was higher on the horizon Continue Reading
Gift Yourself With Silence
It seems I’ve spent the last 6 months in a constant state of reset and one of the things I’ve come to cherish as part of this process is silence. It happened by accident, at women’s retreat, where the first 12 hours were spent in complete silence. We didn’t stop living or doing, but we did stop talking. And I was surprised at how it brought me closer to my thoughts and emotions. How it forced me to slow down and look inside. But most importantly, how my spirit cracked open just enough to feel God’s presence in a new and refreshing way. Silence has been a scarcity in my life, and I’m sure it is in yours also. Between parenting, work, and juggling life in general, I’ve spent far more time in chaos and noise. It wasn’t until one aspect of noise was removed that I realized all the Continue Reading
